Old Trace: A Masterclass in Invisible Tech

This sophisticated retirement sanctuary is where high-performance technology disappears into world-class architecture. The biggest hurdle was delivering a highly complex project during the height of the pandemic, which meant using 3D modeling and early product procurement to navigate global shortages without ever compromising the client's timeline or vision.

The Art of Hidden Technology

Luxury is defined by what you don’t see, and for the Old Trace project, the homeowner’s vision required a home filled with entertainment options that didn't clutter the visual landscape. Our solution was a series of custom-engineered disappearing acts.

In the great room, a high-definition display stays tucked away behind fine artwork until the moment it’s needed. In the kitchen, a TV motorizes silently from within custom cabinetry, while the guest bedrooms feature displays that rise from the floor or descend from the ceiling at the touch of a button.

Even the spa features a motorized ceiling-drop display, allowing for a cinematic experience in a space typically reserved for quiet reflection. By treating technology as a hidden utility rather than a focal point, we allowed the home's beautiful design to speak for itself. World-class entertainment was always a heartbeat away.

Full-Spectrum Lighting for Mood & Motion

Lighting is the connective tissue that ties into the design of every room. At Old Trace, we incorporated full-color spectrum lighting to complement the sun’s natural rhythms during the day and switch to fun, colorful hues for special occasions.

The homeowner can instantly transition the entire property from a bright, energized “Good Morning” scene to a warm, amber-hued “Party Mode” scene. Beyond the primary living spaces, the dynamic lighting extends to the fully customized garage, which doubles as a man cave and is designed to house a world-class car collection.

By using specialized Ketra fixtures, we were able to highlight the unique curves and paint finishes of the vehicles, turning a traditional storage space into a modern private gallery. Whether it’s a social gala or a quiet night in the meditation room, the whole-home lighting system acts as an invisible butler who sets the perfect stage for every moment.

Integrating Design and Technology Amidst Complex Global Constraints

Building a high-performance luxury home is a challenge under the best of conditions; doing so during a global pandemic requires extraordinary coordination. The Old Trace project faced significant supply chain shortages and labor hurdles during unprecedented times, but our engineering-centric approach allowed us to remain agile.

We used advanced 3D modeling to coordinate with architects and builders in a virtual space, ensuring that critical infrastructure was perfectly mapped out before a single wall was ever closed.

To mitigate the risk of COVID-related delays, our team shifted to an early-procurement strategy, securing essential hardware months in advance to keep the project timeline intact. While 90% of the design coordination happened remotely, the result was a flawless execution that highlights our commitment to being the consultative guide who handles the technical headaches so the client doesn't have to.

Savant Control for Total Home Management

A home is only as smart as it is easy to use. To prevent app fatigue, we unified every system at Old Trace, from lighting and audio/video to security cameras and access control, into a single, intuitive Savant interface. By creating a cohesive ecosystem, the homeowner gains total command of the property from a single device.

Security was integrated directly into the lifestyle experience. The pool house, front gate, and all entries feature seamless access control that lets the owners monitor cameras and unlock doors without leaving their seats.

Whole-home technology integration transforms a house into a sanctuary. By listening closely to the client's feedback and focusing on how they actually move through their living spaces, we delivered a system that truly enhances their lifestyle. This project is a testament to the AUDIOVISIONS belief that everyone deserves a technology experience that makes life easier, not more complicated.

"Top notch company with the knowledge and experience to tackle any project. Their team always puts your needs first and has the knack for making dreams come true."
